Industry Minister Thiru. M C Sampath inaugurates Automotive Engineering Show 2017

The 11th edition opened its gates to new and evolving trends in the automotive industry. ACMA to conduct exclusive seminar on Post GST Implementation.

Thiru M.C. Sampath, Hon’ble Minister for Industries - Industries, Steel Control and Special Initiatives, Government of Tamil Nadu inaugurated Automotive Engineering Show (AES) 2017, India’s only trade fair focused on technologies for automotive manufacturing in Chennai today. Hosting over 75 exhibitors, the 11th edition is spread across halls 2 and 3 at Chennai Trade Centre. 

The opening ceremony of this key business gathering witnessed eminent members from the auto industry. Addressing guests present at the ceremony, Thiru M.C. Sampath, Hon’ble Minister for Industries - Industries, Steel Control and Special Initiatives, Govt. of Tamil Nadu said: “It gives me great pleasure to be here at the inauguration of the 11th edition of Automotive Engineering Show in Chennai. The Hon’ble Minister for Industries also announced a new law – Business Facilitation Act & Rules 2017, which has been enacted by the government of Tamil Nadu. This law will provide an investor friendly environment to enable the potential investors to do business with ease. He also stated this to be an historical event in the history of Tamil Nadu.

The Indian auto industry is one of the largest in the world, leading to a constant upgrade in the overall working pattern of the companies in this sector. The 11th edition of Automotive Engineering Show Chennai is showcasing new and evolving technology trends which can be adapted to create an efficient working environment on the factory shop floors.  Some of the highlights include:

Other prominent names exhibiting advanced solutions are CLPA, Omron, Ingersoll Rand, Tunkers, Amvian Automotive, Dopag, Eepos Cranes, Polyworks. 

The three-day exhibition will also host a workshop on 9th November sharing insights on “Surface Engineering in Automotive Industry” and a seminar  on 10th November highlighting the topic “Industrie 4.0 and IIoT: Opportunities for Indian Automotive Manufacturing”. Chief Guest Tmt. R. Vasuki, IAS and Managing Director, State Industrial Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited who will be visiting the seminar on 10th November shared: “I am delighted to know that Messe Frankfurt India is hosting the Automotive Engineering Show and the seminar at Chennai Trade Centre. ACMA to conduct exclusive seminar on Post GST Implementation 

Post the implementation of GST (Goods and Service Tax), the industry is slowly moulding itself into this new development made by the law. To provide further clarification on this topic, ACMA (Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India) will conduct an exclusive seminar on 11th November, focusing on post GST Implementation. This interactive session would focus on: 

  • Issues faced by Industry post GST implementation
  • Issues faced by Industry during “filling of returns”
  • Updates and interpretations of notifications and amendments issued post 1st July 2017 

Established itself as an esteemed and trusted platform through its previous editions, Automotive Engineering Show has drawn strong support from associations like Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC), Society of Automotive Engineers India (SAEINDIA), National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC), Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Society for Surface Protective Coatings India (SSPC India), and Ludhiana Hand Tools Association.
